A settlement site, with occupation from the Iron Age to the Norse period, revealed by coastal erosion. A series of midden deposits and associated stone structures revealed by erosion over a 30m length of dune, and excavated in the 1990s. The excavation revealed five Iron Age buildings, three of which were stone-built roundhouses, with a later Norse building on top.
Finds recovered from the site include fish and animal bone, pottery, iron slag, worked bone and antler, shell, querns, metalwork and stone tools, including flints.

On the original site where the Iron Age houses were found is slightly elevated, therefore the high tides do not reach that far back as yet. Sand movement may be a problem as wind blown sand covering fencing in some areas which enables the public to walk all over the original site.
Reconstructed Iron Age house is under threat from rabbit burrowing and there may be a problem in the future with the stream that runs past to the sea.
