Description

A memorial plaque to commemorate local community member involved in rescue efforts of stricken American Liberty Ship USS William H. Welch. Three abandoned lifeboats associated. One can be seen on the beach immediately to the west of the memorial. The remaining two are beached further W, over the headland.
