Description

Widespread anthropogenic deposit, approx 30cm thick. Contains peat ash, charcoal, marine shell, fire-cracked-stone. Associated with a drystone wall, only a short stretch of which was visible. This anthropogenic layer and walling are below and separated by a blown sand layer from the ubiquitous buried turf horizon visible in every exposure across the Ardnave peninsular.
