STRUCTURE
Shetland

Description

Six large sub-rectangular boulder-sized stones, placed in a line and exposed in the coast edge. The 1m high, 3m wide structure cuts till and is overlain by 0.8m of cultivated soil. A small patch of peat ash and one fragment of black very coarse pottery was found between the stones. Otherwise no cultural material was noted. A slight rise at the coast edge directly above the structure may be the last remnants of a mound.
